The Importance of Being Online

“Having a website is going to allow you to reach a wider customer base and could make you more money and more successful.”

According to a recent study “the UK carries out far more retail online than any other major economy”. This is becoming more and more apparent when you look at the amount of high street businesses that are either closing down entirely or moving to a web only presence.

However, I’m not talking about the underlying factors of the demise of “bricks and mortar” businesses. I’m going to be explaining why it’s not only hugely important for the future of your business to have an online presence, but can also be a big boost to your success.

When you’re searching for something, be it a product, a company or a service, where is the first place you look? For some it’s the yellow pages or a local directory, but for the increasing majority it’s Google, Amazon, Bing or other internet resources.

The rise of smartphones and tablets means that this is going to continue to be the case for more and more people. Combined they now account for over 20% of web traffic. Having one of these devices makes it easier than ever to use the web and means it takes just minutes to look up and find what you’re looking for.

So doesn’t it make sense that when customers are searching the web for the products and services that you offer, your company should have a site that’ll tell them all they need to know to about what you offer and why you’re the best at what you do.

Last year, 21 million households had access to the internet, that’s a massive 80%. By not having a website you’re missing out on reaching a lot of potential customers and if your competitors are already online, they may well be capturing them. The internet contributes to 8.3% of the UK economy so by not tapping into that you’re missing a big slice of the market.

I set up blondosonic.com at the beginning of this year to make it simple for businesses to get online in a way that represented them in exactly the way they wanted. All of my designs are completely customized to give you the exact look you’re after and I offer a variety of price competitive packages as well as being able to tailor make a proposal for whatever you need.

So why not get in touch by emailing info@blondosonic.com or tweeting @idmurphy and find out how easy it is to get online.
